Smithsonian Magazine Annual Photo Contest

Amateurs only! Submit phots or obtain more information at photocontest.smithsonianmag.com/v5/index.html.
Categories are "The Natural World;" "Americana;" "Altered Images;" "Travel;" "People."
Entries by upload only; deadline is Thursday, January 3, 2008.
Finalists will be listed on the Smithsonian Web site on 4/1/08.
NOTE there is a printable model release form you must use if your photo contains recognizable people!

Appalachian Mountain Club Annual Photo Contest

With our increasing interest in digital competitions, we approved Jerry Grant as digital competition guru. He'll be watching for digital competition opportunites and letting us know.

NOTE that the door is still open for someone to take charge of participation in traditional slide and print competitions, if anyone is interested!
