What did we learn?
Exposure:
- F8.0 and 20 seconds (Larry)
- F8.0, focus at infinity and 15 seconds (Al)
- At least four second exposure (LeRoy);
- At the end of the show ["Grand Finale"] I change exposure to 1 second. It was very easy to overexpose if any longer than that. (LeRoy)
Get more than one burst in the picture:
- 20 seconds exposure (Larry);
- Multiple exposures (Mike).
- We also read about intermittently covering the lens with a dark object while leaving shutter on "bulb," but I don't know if any of us has tried this. (Al)
Don't forget:
- It's dark and you ain't so young any more. Don't forget a flashlight and the reading glasses for the settings and menus on your camera! (Al)
- Bring an umbrella to prevent rain! Oh, and if it's a little drizzly, keep a sharp eye on your lens for raindrops. You don't see them in the dark, but they can wreck a nice picture with blurry blobs! (Al)
Set up ...
- ... back from the action, where you can get the whole picture and maybe some background or foreground. (Jerry)
- ... early to get the best location! (Al)
